Cover me Journal

My exhibition goes up TONIGHT!
Yep that's right.
It's SO Overwhelmingly exciting.
but SO much work to do.

Last Sunday, while my lovely mom so kindly brought me all of my paintings
[drove 2 hours to do so...she's amazing]
We looked for me a cute guest book to sit out on the table throughout the entire exhibition for people to write little notes in, and so I can see how many people came to see my show!

Well, needless to say, I had NO luck.
All of the journal were UGLY, and didn't scream "Brianna" haha.
So, I decided to cover my own.
IT'S SOOO EASY.
and mostly materials you have at home.

SUPPLIES:

Journal [preferably with a hard cover]
Decorative Crafting Paper
[I used three different papers, with different and contrasting patterns and colors]
A Regular Glue Stick
Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

1. Lay the craft paper pattern side down on a table or hard surface.
Trace the outline of your Journal cover, and add about 1/4 of an inch to each side.
Repeat this, if you are covering both front and back of your journal.

2. Cut out the paper.
Put glue all over the surface of the book, as well as the paper.
carefully position the paper onto the cover, and press down.
Use the side of your glue stick to rub across the cover of the journal, so that all of the air bubbles are released from the cover, making a nice, flat surface. This also helps to adhere the two surfaces together.

3. Now take the side of your glue stick, and run it down the side of the cover, so that it folds down the craft paper nice a straight creating a folded edge to the inside of the journal.
Glue down the cover sides on the inside of the journal.

4. Cut out a piece of craft paper to fit the inside of the journal cover, that will slightly cover the raw edges of the paper you folded over from the front cover.
Now, glue that down to the inside.
5. Repeat all of these to cover the back, if you want.
The back of my journal, I chose to leave silver [the original color], and I just put a stripped band that matched with the front cover.

Hope this made sense.
Again, it's SUPER simple, and lots of fun!

ENJOY and let me know how yours turn out.
