Shindig Weekend

A weekend getaway was much needed, and it was a weekend that I had been looking so forward to for Months. The weekend of Billy Reid's Shindig No. 10 was one for the books!

Aaron and I hit the road last Friday, calling our weekend a little early! We made the two hour drive to a place that holds a huge place in my creative heart...Florence, Alabama.
I finallyyyyyy started something on my arm that I've wanted to do for so so long. I have been patient, waited it out to see if it was just a "phase" of life. But after nearly a decade of still wanting it, I think its safe to say it wasn't just a phase in life. So I decided to go for it! Here's a little peek at it. Matt Green is AWESOME and I'm so so glad I waited patiently and went to him! His design on my arm far exceeded what I had envisioned and the bright colors are just so incredible.

SECOND STOP: THE ADAM'S HOUSE
You guys, these people are my family, maybe not by blood, but truly by the blessing of God!!! It blows my mind that I went into my 20's not having these people in my life. Either way, I am so glad God put them in my life and they will forever be now!! This was Aaron's first time going to Mary Mac and Mr. Gary's house. If you don't know who these people are, let me explain briefly. In 2012 (I think) I got a great job offer in Florence, AL thanks to the work of my BFF, Frances. At the time, I lived in Birmingham. This family welcomed me into their home, no questions asked and let me live with them for as long as I wanted! They are the most welcoming people that I have ever known. When you walk into their home, you immediately feel like its your home and you've known them for your entire life. They are just so genuine and caring! It was soooo good to be at my Home away from Home :)

THIRD STOP: COFFEE WITH THE BESTIE
When France and I worked together, we made it somewhat of a habit to take an late morning walk from work to the local coffee shop, Rivertown. So we set out to do just that. We made a few stops on the way such as to Cotton & Ivy as well as to Mefford's! We met our sweet friend Adrianne for coffee and a sweet snack at (a new to me) Turbo. Mmmmm, y'all. This place was soooooo good and it connects to the oh so beautiful GunRunner Boutique Hotel.

Florence just overflows with Creativity and I feel so refreshed every single time I leave there. The most creative I ever felt was when I lived there. It's crazy how being around other creatives really challenges you!

Spending good quality time with my gal Frances always does this heart of mine good.

FOURTH STOP:
Shoals Theater for the Amazingly talented and beautiful Kacey Musgraves!

Such an amazing night. We cannot wait to see her again in March!!

We spent the rest of the weekend drinking coffee and spending time with the whole Adam's and Ledgewood Clans, showing Aaron around UNA and just getting some good quality time adventuring.
This whole little weekend getaway was so much fun and I'm so glad we were able to go!

The streets of downtown Florence are just lined with amazing little shops that have been formed by people with vision, drive and dreams. If you've never been, I highly recommend it! If you ever want to plan a trip to the amazing town of Florence, Please do not hesitate to shoot me an email if you need suggestions or help planning!

XO

Alabama Theater • Kacey • Sunday

Last night I saw ^^^These weirdos with some of my favorite people.
Kacey was SO much fun. Seriously!!!
My favorite part was the awesomely ridiculously C U T E Cacti on the stage
and Kacey's sense of humor.
I love the running theme in a lot of her songs. The basic message being that you aren't going to please everyone. So, stop trying, do what makes you happy, and like her song Biscuit says, "...Life will be gravy."
Dang, She's got looks & Brains <3

John & Jacob opened for her, but I was late soooo...yeah!
I saw only three songs. Boo! I was bummed out we missed most of their set, but at least we did catch a few songs.

We had a whole lot of fun. Well...except for the fact that we were late, AND I had the worst Migraine on the face of the planet. The worst <<< and that's no exaggeration. You know I have a really REALLY high pain tolerance, so If I am complaining about it, its REAL LIFE. Why can't those stupid things happen when I am siting at home working, rather than while I am actually out trying to have a little fun time? Oh well. By the way, my Migraine is gone now, thank the Good Lord!

anywhooooo

I L O V E D Lyssa Lou getting to meet my friends and getting to hang with us! I **think** she had fun. haha Who knows.

Today is C H U R C H day. By the way, if any of my Epic friends are reading this, I miss the heck out of you all! This afternoon at Christway is the Women's Fall Thingy {sorry I don't really know what its called, don't kill me Mrs. Cari} I am pretty excited about it! Mrs. Cari is such a great speaker and I can't wait to hear her!

It's been a Good Good Weekend. There has been only one thing missing...
Bye for now,

Music Midtown Recap!

Hey hey!!!
This past weekends trip to Atlanta with Wilbert was a blast!
We left out early on Friday Morning, grabbed some coffee, and hit the road for Georgia. If you dont know who Will is...He has been my best guy pal since 7th grade.
We even went to college together!

As soon as we got to Atlanta, we stopped at Home Grown for some delicious food!!!

After stuffing our faces, it was time to do something that was part of the plan for this trip  from the very beginning. And that thing was get new tattoos.
Sooooo we did just that!

I have been wanting the So Worth Loving Logo on me for a couple of years now
f i n a l l y did it!!!
and I do L O V E l o v e L O V E it!

Here's everyone that we got to see during Music Midtown:
Bear Hands
Lorde
Jack White
John Mayer
The Strypes
Twenty One Pilots
B O B
Fitz & The Tantrums
Gregg Allman
Bastille
& Eminem

Soooo. Basically my phone was dead for most of the two days that we were there. So, needless to say my photo collection is very slim.
All of the Artists were A m a z i n g
It's hard to say who my favorite was.
I absolutely love Lorde so seeing her at midtown only made me love her even more.
John Mayer of course was amazing as well as Jack White.
I loved seeing Eminem...it took me straight back to high school days. So many memories.
I got a few videos of Eminem, but no photos.

I did however, get to see Eminem perform while feeling like a tall person and actually being able to see. It was pretty nice but also a little scary being up so high.

I loved loved loved getting our tattoos. It was so much fun.
I think Wilbert had just as much fun as I did.

To end the trip, we had Brunch with Will's brother Collin!!!
We ate at this place called R. Thomas!
It was such a neato restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was on point.

After eating with Collin, it was time for the drive back to Alabama. We just enjoyed the beautiful weather and good tunes on the way back!

I can't wait to go back to Midtown next year. It was crazy fun and worth every cent I spent.

I hope your weekend was half as fun as mine and Wills.
This weekend coming I am OVER-THE-MOON about getting here.
Apparently someone lives for the weekends.

Bye for now,

Music Midtown Trip!

Hi hi!!!
This weekend is going to way too much fun.
My best guy pal {William} and I will be having a three day road trip to Atlanta.
Music Midtown is happening on Friday and Saturday. We are
B E Y O N D excited!!

We have been waiting and waiting on this weekend to get here for what seems like forever. We are seeing some really great artists! Despite the horrible schedule, we both know that this trip will be one for the books.

Here are a few of the artist that we can't wait to see!

I'm so excited about the lineup for Friday! However, the scheduling is a little whack. Jack White & John Mayer are at the same time. WHY? Makes absolutely Z E R O since. Also, Iggy & Lorde overlap. No. Crazy. Stupid.
I am sure it is very very hard to do the scheduling for an event like this, but really?? When MM released the times a few weeks ago, social media blew up over the conflicts. Not good. I think everyone has cooled off a little now. I'm still just as excited to go, just annoyed that I'm having to CHOOSE between John & Jack, Iggy & Lorde.

Saturday is a pretty great lineup too! I'm just really excited for a fun trip. I'm excited to hang out with Will all weekend. I hope I can keep up with his crazy high metabolism.

Tonight Mel B & and I are doing a little shopping so I can start getting everything ready. I will be back for a post on what I get on my shopping trip tonight!

Bye for now loves
