Creative Share: make drawer space and USE those OLD TSHIRTS

CREATIVE SHARE TIME.
Check it out at the TRENDY TREEHOUSE !
If any of you are like me,
I have a little problem with developing a strong connection with my  t shirts.
I have so many t shirts
from loads of different events I have participated in, or from thift store finds, just SOOO many different things that I have t shirts from
They seriously consume ALL of my drawer space,
but I just can't part with them
and NO I won't ever wear them, but I just don't want to get rid of them.

SO my CREATIVE SHARING for this week
is about T-SHIRTS

There are SEVERAL ways to clean out your drawers, and re-create your t-shirts into something else.
My VERY VERY talented Nanny, for example, collects all of our family t-shirts, and then makes STUNNING quilts out of them.

Memory quilts. The ones above are REALLY REALLY pretty!
I have one that I adore, and it has ALL of t-shirts from all of my schooling, starting from Elementary going all the way through my very first years of college.
I sure wish I had a photograph with me.
It's SOOO pretty and special because I know she made it with so SOO much love in her heart.

But that isn't what I am going to share today,
[actually I guess I already did share it with you....TWO SHARES for you today I guess!]

I have been planning on doing this for a couple of weeks now,
T-SHIRT WALL ART

LIKE THESE!!

aren't the precious.
now, Just imagine that t-shirt that you just can't seem to part with
hanging, beautifully displayed on your wall.

Here's what you are going to need:

The t-shirts that you love

Stretcher Bars [from your local craft store]
You'll need to know the correct size you want, which depends on the size of the t shirt.

A simple Staple gun & staples

DIRECTIONS:

Take your t-shirt, if it has wrinkles on it from being stuffed in a drawer, you might want to iron the wrinkles out!
Decide the area that you want to be displayed on the bars
Cut the area that you want leaving about 2 inches around the area after you have assembled the stretcher bars,

lay the shirt flat with the front facing downward,
then place on top of the shirt the stretcher bars,
and stretch the shirt around the sides of the bars securing each side with a staple.
after all of the sides are stapled down each side, trim any excess fabric and THATS it!
a new piece to hang on your wall!

CANT WAIT TO MAKE MY OWN
& hope you do to!

If so PLEASE PLEASE share with me how they turn out!!

love LOVE

This is just so neat. You have to submit these to Trendy Treehouse Magazine. I would love to feature them. My mom made me a quilt from all my sports t-shirts. I love the wall art too! I will have to try this. Very cool!

Bree,
I love the quilts your nanny makes. I have been saving Will's t'shirts since he was a baby. Does she do it for hire?

I have been working on my tee shirt quilt with my sewing machine, but this a great way to keep everything square and uniform! I love it and you should totally make one! :)

That's so awesome, I am in love with this. I do not wear t shirts really but I have had trouble parting with some of my Sorority ones and this is genius!
